As a surgery we do not initiate benzodiazepine prescriptions for fear of flying, a phobia.
This is because prescribing benzodiazepines for phobia is contraindicated as per the British National Formulary which we adhere to. Diazepam | Drugs | BNF | NICE
We welcome routine GP consultation regarding this phobia, or other phobias for that matter, as we have a multitude of evidence based and effective treatments that we do advocate and offer.
Treatment options could include our local psychological therapies teams and national, private provider ‘fear of flying’ courses
